No one on this thread knows AK as well as I do (sorry past lovers, current and past friends, etc.) but reality hurts. In addition, I would like everyone to know that I am a registered INDEPENDENT who leans fiscally conservative and socially liberal. If you do not understand what this means, please use a dictionary. I am a true swing vote.</p> <p>Now, I am going to interject into this conversation and please DO NOT REPLY until you have read this three-part post. I will completely ignore you (including those of you whom I love dearly).</p> <p>FIRST: I agree with 99% of what AK has to say in this post. I will disagree on one point. Go ahead, please vote for the president of these United States of America. Voting for president is less important than voting for the House of Representatives. If you have no idea why, please brush up on HISTORY.</p> <p>SECOND: I have a series of questions for all of you. I encourage you to avoid Salon.com and all the other ridiculous media outlets to answer these questions. You actually need to understand history &amp; politics, to answer these questions.</p> <p>Q: What is the Constitution of these United States of America? Do you actually know what it is? Have you even read the highlights?</p> <p>Q: What was the last MAJOR constitutional amendment passed? I will give you a hint (it directly relates to the aftermath of The New Deal).</p> <p>Q: What is the role of the president of these United States of America? Do you realize that there are two other competing bodies that actually run this country?</p> <p>Q: Which of the three main bodies of government refuses to be audited?</p> <p>Q: Which representative in Congress has successfully made millions off of insider trading deals but is not going up hell’s creek like Bernie Madoff and others because of impunity? Thank you Congress…</p> <p>Q: Why was there a Civil War in these United States of America? You might be surprised! It actually changed the Union dramatically, which in reality GIVES YOU MORE RIGHTS THAN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. And no, I am not a war monger, racist, bigot, etc. I am actually a huge backer of minority groups, the LGBT community, AK and I believe that no one should touch a woman’s private area other than her partner, her OBGYN, and herself, under their own T&amp;C’s. Thank you!</p> <p>&#8212; Side bar: Thank goodness Abraham Lincoln was born and went on to serve this great country and pass the Emancipation Proclamation. He was a progressive, way before his time, but this was not the antecedent to the Civil War. It was the final nail in the coffin, but the basic premise of the South wanting to secede from the Union was purely based on the fact that the Federal government increasingly was stripping States of their rights to legislate. So, while this atrocious war was fought, it enabled States to pass legislation contrary to the laws of the Union, as long as such laws abide by the Constitution of these United States of America. &#8212;</p> <p>Q: Who on this thread has run major political campaigns in both these United States of America and in other countries? I know one person who has.</p> <p>Q: Who on this thread has run media campaigns for-and-against major Trade Associations in these United States of America? I know one person who has.</p> <p>Q: Who on this thread has run media campaigns for the government (municipal, state, and local) against said Trade Associations? I know one person who has.</p> <p>Q: Who on this thread has covered sessions of Congress and written official news wires on their ineptitude? I know one person who has.</p> <p>Q: Who is Lee Iacocca? I think DETROIT (or should I say OHIO) had problems with the auto industry before the GREAT RECESSION.</p> <p>Q: Which president enacted the auto-bailout?</p> <p>Q: Who forced said president to enact the auto-bailout?</p> <p>Q: Who actually benefited from the auto-bailout? I have more on this but will keep my mouth shut because I already feel the hate coming on.</p> <p>Q: Do you believe that the Healthcare Overhaul will be overturned by anyone? I know why it will not.</p> <p>Q: What is the president’s primary role in government? It has nothing to do with LAW.</p> <p>Q: Why did consumers and business get screwed by Dodd Frank? Please, I would appreciate an intellectual response to this question, because if you think it was consumers and small business…YOU’RE WRONG!</p> <p>THIRD: Now I intend on shedding my views on the aforementioned. It may piss any, if all of you, off but it is called reality. So deal with it.</p> <p>First, and foremost, the rights of women to choose will never be repealed (i.e., Roe v. Wade). Do you know why? The Supreme Court gets that last word and that is reality. States have the right to pass laws regarding said rights as long as long as they abide by the Constitution. Hence, this is the reason that all laws begin in Circuit Court, and then move to District Court, and finally the Supreme Court steps, to decide the final verdict.</p> <p>No one is touching your female reproductive rights. I promise. I mentioned previously no one will invade your female rights. No one! </p> <p>Do you know how I know why? Do you know that the laws passed nearly 100 years ago are still in place? First, and foremost, many of you know what AMT is. It screws the so-called middle class, because in the late 70’s and early 80’s individuals and/ or couples making $100,000 a year meant you were the 1%. Today you get screwed for being marginally successful in your life. I would like to continue. Do you know that (these are some examples…Trust me there are more):</p> <p>California</p> <p>* Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.</p> <p>* No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour.</p> <p>Connecticut</p> <p>* In order for a pickle to officially be considered a pickle, it must bounce.</p> <p>Maine</p> <p>* Shotguns are required to be taken to church in the event of a Native American attack.</p> <p>Massachusetts</p> <p>* It is illegal to go to bed without first having a full bath.</p> <p>New Hampshire</p> <p>* On Sundays citizens may not relieve themselves while looking up.</p> <p>New York</p> <p>* The penalty for jumping off a building is death.</p> <p>Oregon</p> <p>* One may not bathe without wearing &#8220;suitable clothing,&#8221; (i.e., that which covers one&#8217;s body from neck to knee).</p> <p>In addition, the Federal government will have very little ability to pass FEDERAL laws regarding same-sex marriage. It is reality; unfortunate reality, but reality. Hence, why I previously mentioned the Civil War (please do read that section again…I am not making this stuff up). States have the right to pass/ ban gay marriage. If you want a Federal Mandate, unfortunately (as I would like it too), it is not coming anytime soon. Political sensitivity amongst religious groups, minorities, and ALL AMERICANS weigh in on this debate. It is not Dem v. Pub. Trust me. If you do not believe me, then you have not actually been reading anything of substance.</p> <p>One of the most iconic brands in these United States of America has determined that JEEPs should no longer be built in America. It is cost prohibitive. Hence all manufacturing of these vehicles will now move to China. Apparently there is demand in China for an American (oops, I meant an Italian) owned company and labor costs are much more cost effective to produce these vehicles there. Sorry Detroit (umm, I mean Ohio) because that is where they are manufactured. Your early vote went well, I guess…</p> <p>Someone mentioned that Hillary Clinton is a war monger. Now, I have to beg to differ. Actually it was (IMO the real president of these United States of America – or who should be –) who disagreed with military intervention in Libya. It actually was the president who made the executive order, against the wishes of our most senior diplomat in these United States of America, while on a $30,000 a day holiday abroad. Now, last time I checked, we lost one of our most beloved diplomats in Libya as a result of these inept actions. Not to mention, three other Americans were assassinated, as well, on the 11th eve of 9/11 in, ummmmm, Libya.</p> <p>Also, it you would like a real lesson on the housing bust (i.e., CRA), Financial Services Overhaul (Dodd-Frank), and every other piece of garbage that Congress has passed…Let me know. I will gladly educate you on 80 years of garbage politics that have resulted in multiple messes in this country. I am absolutely disgusted that a session of Congress is measured based on the number of pieces of legislation passed. I am sincerely sorry, but do you feel 112th Congress truly sucks because they ONLY PASSED 100 pieces of legislation. If you do, then you must feel like Barry Bonds was the king of homers. MORE LEGISLATION DOES NOT EQUAL BETTER LEGISLATION. And I will argue with anyone on this topic. Just try me.</p> <p>I am getting sick and tired of writing this abstract to my dissertation, “Why American Voters Have No Idea What They Are Talking About”, so go ahead and feel free to rail me night and day. At the end of the day I will support AK for her post.
